St. Patrick’s Day brought several You’re the Cure advocates to the Statehouse for West Virginia Lobby Day where they met with legislators on the heart-health issues we’re working on this session. Included in those discussions were bills regarding menu labeling, increasing the cigarette excise tax to the national average and protecting local clean indoor air regulations.
In addition, fifteen members of the Women’s Caucus joined us for lunch and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training. Each of the members left with a Family and Friends CPR Anytime kit that can be taken home, where the goal is to pass along the simple, 22-minute training to loved ones.
Thanks to those who were able to join us at the Statehouse and to all our dedicated advocates. You ARE the Cure for heart disease and stroke in West Virginia!
