  • Celebrate the 50th Anniversary of CPR!

In 1960, a group of resuscitation pioneers combined mouth-to-mouth breathing with chest compressions to create Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, the lifesaving action we now call “CPR.” This action, when provided immediately after a sudden cardiac arrest, can double – even triple – a victim’s chance of survival.

Join us throughout this anniversary year as we celebrate CPR and the people whose lives it has saved over the last 50 years!

  • You're the Cure

You don't have to be a doctor to save lives. Just be willing to deliver a lifesaving message to public officials whenever you can. Maybe you've already participated with the American Heart Association before by walking in a Heart Walk. Or perhaps you've helped organize a gala event. Maybe you even helped someone survive a heart attack or stroke. At moments like these, You're the Cure. Even if you're someone who wants to get involved for the first time, you can be part of the cure.

How do we promote fresh fruits and vegetables to kindergarteners?

Great news! The Ohio House has passed innovative legislation to promote fresh fruits and vegetables through nutrition education and greater awareness through Ohio grown foods! Now we need to urge the Senate to do the same! This program is a great way to teach young children about the importance of these foods through visits to local farms. The Department of Agriculture supports this proposed grant program, which is a win-win, especially if coupled with proposed health education standards that would include nutrition education.

Don’t delay! Send your message now to urge your Senator to also support the Healthy Farms, Healthy Schools Bill (House Bill 68)!

House Bill 68 provides a grant program to educate kindergarten students on the importance of fresh fruits and vegetables. Schools would be able to apply for funds for nutrition education and field trips to local farms. When coupled with proposed health education standards, including nutrition education, we can better educate all children on the importance of fresh fruits and vegetables and overall good nutrition.
