Obesity is not only undermining America’s health, it is also a threat to our nation’s productivity and economic security, wrote AHA President Clyde Yancy, M.D., in an Aug. 16 editorial in the Washington Times. “We must address the obesity issue where people live, work and play by making comprehensive, sustainable policy and environmental changes. By integrating these changes into broader strategies that impact our nation's health and economic security, we can keep our generational commitment and create a healthier and more productive nation,” Yancy wrote.
