Learn about the health status of children in your state and across the nation. Check out the recently released 2007 National Survey of Children’s Health (NSCH). Conducted by the National Center for Health Statistics at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the survey examines the physical and emotional health of children, with an emphasis on family interactions, parental health, school and after-school experiences, and safe neighborhoods. The Child and Adolescent Health Measurement Initiative’s (CAHMI) Data Resource Center Web site offers "point-and-click" access to the survey’s national and state-level findings, and allows users to compare state-level data on over 100 child health indicators. You can also view findings by household income, race/ethnicity, insurance coverage and health status.
