    In 1960, a group of resuscitation pioneers combined mouth-to-mouth breathing with chest compressions to create Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, the lifesaving action we now call “CPR.” This action, when provided immediately after a sudden cardiac arrest, can double – even triple – a victim’s chance of survival.

Cancelled: West Virginia Lobby Day, Feb 10th

Good morning! On behalf of the American Heart Association, we wanted to THANK YOU for making plans to join us tomorrow, February 10th, for West Virginia Lobby Day, You’re the Cure at the Capitol. Unfortunately, due to the weather making travel to Charleston difficult for both volunteers and lawmakers, Lobby Day will be cancelled.

However, we will still host a “virtual” Lobby Day, where advocates from across the state will have the opportunity to share the important message our Lobby Day advocates were planning to bring with them to the Capitol.

Watch your inbox for this “virtual” Lobby Day message and be sure to take ACTION and forward to friends and family, encouraging them to join you in sending a message as well!
