AHA advocates successfully passed legislation a decade ago that provides immunity from civil liability for laypersons that render emergency care or treatment with and AED. The law also covers physicians involved in placing the AEDs, individuals or entities that provide the CPR/AED training, and the individuals or entities responsible for the site where the AED is located.
