  • Celebrate the 50th Anniversary of CPR!

In 1960, a group of resuscitation pioneers combined mouth-to-mouth breathing with chest compressions to create Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, the lifesaving action we now call “CPR.” This action, when provided immediately after a sudden cardiac arrest, can double – even triple – a victim’s chance of survival.

Join us throughout this anniversary year as we celebrate CPR and the people whose lives it has saved over the last 50 years!

  • You're the Cure

You don't have to be a doctor to save lives. Just be willing to deliver a lifesaving message to public officials whenever you can. Maybe you've already participated with the American Heart Association before by walking in a Heart Walk. Or perhaps you've helped organize a gala event. Maybe you even helped someone survive a heart attack or stroke. At moments like these, You're the Cure. Even if you're someone who wants to get involved for the first time, you can be part of the cure.

Good news! We are a step closer to a Smoke Free Northern Kentucky! The Northern Kentucky District Board of Health recently passed a resolution saying they will enforce a comprehensive smoke free ordinance if passed by the county fiscal courts. This puts to rest questions that smokefree opponents raised about enforcement of a proposed smokefree ordinance. Local health departments all across the country are successfully implementing and enforcing 100% smokefree laws and it will be no different in our communities!

Thanks to the experience of hundreds of cities and counties in Kentucky and other states, we know that 100% smokefree local ordinances protect all workers and citizens from the serious health hazards of secondhand smoke. They are also easily and inexpensively enforced because they are simple, straightforward and largely self-enforcing.

Now is a great time to remind your elected officials that you support a 100% smoke free ordinance in your county. They need to hear from the people who elect them that smokefree laws are good for health, good for business and popular with the public!

We need them to ACT NOW! Call or email your
Campbell and Kenton County officials and tell them to "Please vote for a comprehensive smoke-free ordinance to protect workers and patrons in Northern Kentucky."

Please let us know if you made your call or sent your email and what response, if any, you received. And then take a moment to forward to your friends and family and encourage them to make their voices heard too!

You have the right to breathe clean air. We're running out of time to help make that right a reality!
