Cigarette tax increase for Anchorage, Alaska

We like to celebrate major advocacy victories not only in our own affiliatie but around the country as well!

On Nov. 9 the Anchorage Assembly voted to raise the cigarette tax by 75 cents per pack. This will generate up to $6.2 million of new revenue annually, according to the Municipality of Anchorage.

Combined with the state tax, the total cigarette tax in Anchorage is now $4.21 per pack.

Way to go to all the advocates in Alaska who helped make this change possible!
