  • Celebrate the 50th Anniversary of CPR!

In 1960, a group of resuscitation pioneers combined mouth-to-mouth breathing with chest compressions to create Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, the lifesaving action we now call “CPR.” This action, when provided immediately after a sudden cardiac arrest, can double – even triple – a victim’s chance of survival.

Join us throughout this anniversary year as we celebrate CPR and the people whose lives it has saved over the last 50 years!

  • You're the Cure

You don't have to be a doctor to save lives. Just be willing to deliver a lifesaving message to public officials whenever you can. Maybe you've already participated with the American Heart Association before by walking in a Heart Walk. Or perhaps you've helped organize a gala event. Maybe you even helped someone survive a heart attack or stroke. At moments like these, You're the Cure. Even if you're someone who wants to get involved for the first time, you can be part of the cure.

Jenny Craig to Support My Heart. My Life.

You're the Cure GRA On Wednesday, November 30, 2011
The American Heart Association is pleased to announce that Jenny Craig is a new national supporter of our My Heart. My Life. healthy living platform.

AHA President, Gordon Tomaselli, M.D., participated in the Nov. 9 announcement in New York City along with Gayle King, editor-at-large for O, The Oprah Magazine; Dana Fiser, Jenny Craig's Global CEO; AHA volunteer Tim Church, M.D., M.P.H., Ph.D., professor and Endowed Chair of the Pennington Biomedical Research Center at Louisiana State University; and Mariah Carey, Jenny Craig's newest celebrity ambassador. Together they discussed the importance of healthy living and the shared focus of the AHA and Jenny Craig on helping people improve their overall health with physical activity and healthy eating.

"Jenny Craig's support will make it possible for the AHA to expand its reach to many more individuals," Tomaselli said. "In addition, Jenny Craig takes a broad approach to improving diet and physical activity, and supports an individualized plan that is consistent with the association's approach to healthy eating, including support and recommendations for physical activity."
