More than 60 volunteers and staff joined us in Frankfort on February 10th for our annual Kentucky Lobby Day. Participants met with their state senators and representatives in support of our heart-health policy priorities.
In addition to meeting with legislators, volunteers gathered for a rally in the Rotunda where the Mustang Movers, a jump rope team from Georgetown, treated participants to a wonderful performance. Our little Brave Hearts were also honored with a proclamation for Congenital Heart Defects Awareness Day. Later, the First Lady also took time out of her busy schedule to meet with the Brave Hearts survivors and their families. Thanks to those meetings, your emails and phone calls, we were able to double Kentucky’s cigarette excise tax to help reduce smoking among our price-sensitive youth. You truly ARE the Cure!
